This year, I will let go of the hatred/negativism 2010 has brought me. The people whom have hurt me, I’ll offer them forgiveness, The things I’ve loved doing, I’ll learn new things to keep it alive and The promise of learning, I will keep my mind open to greater possibilities. So, goodbye 2010, HELLO sassy 2011!!!! :p

This year, I want many thing as much as last year… but what I want the most is to earn a huge amount of money so that I can buy a house for my mom. We never really had a home, and ever since I was a kid (my mom never knew this, or i think she does) is that we can have a home, our own home near the city, but secluded and peaceful. Next is that, I want to learn how to forgive myself, not to be too hard on my heart and learn that sometimes, letting go of something isn’t really goodbye but is really a start of something new, something incredible. Accepting reality for what it is, and make it exceptionally wonderful each and every second of my life. : )

I always dreamed of going to China and eating real Chinese food using those fancy chopsticks (not just Chinese take-out!), so now we are booked to China in August, but I would be a disgrace in the Asian group because I don’t know how to use chopsticks! So starting now until first week of August, I would allow one day in a week to practice – and maybe an hour picking up nuts using chopsticks. By August, I am hoping I can impress my friends and the Chinese community with my new skill ;)

My dream for 2011 is happiness and satisfaction for my family. I will achieve my dream by beginning the transformation within my own self. I will smile a lot and be thankful aplenty for all the blessings and struggles that may come our way this 2011.. :-)

I’ve always dreamed of having my own herb/vegetable garden. It would be nice to be like one of those Martha Stewart-y women who can just take fresh herbs from their garden when they’re needed for cooking! ;-) This would be a very easy and achievable goal actually, except for the fact that I’ve proven myself to not have a green thumb! Nonetheless, I plan to achieve this goal by doing my share of research on gardening and by really taking the time to nurture and grow these plants (even with my busy schedule!) ;-)

The last three years, I have been working my butt off in Manila so I can support myself and my boyfriend as we wait for him to graduate from medical school. It has been a long and hard ride, especially being away from him and all my loved ones. This 2011, I dream (and fervently pray) that my bf will pass the boards and finally become a licensed doctor. I also dream that he will be able to take up residency in Manila so that we will work in the same city and finally be able to see each other every day. And so that I don’t have to spend my weekends alone. I really miss him…

I’ve always dreamed of achieving financial security for myself and my long-term boyfriend-slash-future husband in a variety of ways. This 2011, I will add more to my mutual fund investment, dip my feet in the stock market and start another life investment plan. It’s challenging, exciting, scary and demands utmost commitment – but in the long run I know it will definitely be worth it.

I’ve always dreamed of starting (and maintaining) my own blog. I’ve started a blog before but it was meant mostly for my closest friends and full of whiny/emo teen angst. Now that I’m older (and hopefully more mature!) I’d like to start a more “professional” blog covering food and travel – my two passions! I’m already thinking of creative names for it and writing down some articles which I can post as soon as I’ve got the blog up and running!

i’ve always dreamed of being fit and slim. i am chubby since birth and now that i am married and have 2 kids, i want to be healthy for them. i want my hubby to have a irresistable wife and my kids to have a hot momma! this year i will start walking for at least 30 mins, 3x a week and by having a healthy diet.

  27. elysse 14 January 2011 at 12:08 pm #

i dream to be able to go on a trip alone! backpacking in camodia or spelunking in palawan, or partying in Maskara festival. travelling in groups may is super fun.. but adventures also await if i try it alone!

  28. Les 14 January 2011 at 12:10 pm #

I am a mother of two young children and have been unable to lose the weight gained during pregnancy. I am more aware right now that I need to be healthy as my kids are still young and they need me to be tehre for them. Thus, my dream for 2011 is to be fit and healthy and have fun while doing it.

I am starting this by coming up with a sensible nutrition and fitness plan that is actually doable and sustainable. This includes incorporating my favorite healthy foods into my diet such as fruits and committing myself to going to the gym at least 3x a week. I will also join the free classes in the gym such as boxing, Pilates, etc so that I will not get bored.

Looking forward to a fit and healthy 2011 for me! =)

I’ve always dreamed of being able to travel to a foreign country with my family. I’d like to take my husband and two kids on a trip to Disneyland in the U.S. This year I will start setting aside enough money every month to cover passport, visa, and travel expenses.

  30. Genevieve B. Zuñiga 14 January 2011 at 12:32 pm #

I’ve always dreamed of having a clothing business for plus-sized women. This year I will work on a feasibility project to find out the right way to start this kind of business.

  31. Kit 14 January 2011 at 1:15 pm #

I have always dreamed of living an excitement-packed life. This 2011, I will try to break out of my old routine and grab every opportunity to try new things.

  32. Tricia 14 January 2011 at 2:13 pm #

I’ve always dreamed of having my own dog and a daycare for dogs. Grace, a friend of mine, just bought a dog late last year. Perry has been such a blessing that his jovial nature extends to me even when I’m not around :) Now, the term goal-setting suddenly has a new meaning. Now, I feel as I’m wearing hose blinders when I think about what I want to achieve. Career-wise, a 3-month old puppy and a 98 pound friend (;P) have helped me realize how much I want to have a doggie daycare. Dogs are so ingrained in the lives of Filipinos that we fail to appreciate their difference which is why we’ve information and programs about dogs that are less to none. 2011 will be the year for this ‘vocation’. I feel very strongly about this :)

One of my aspirations in life to always keep my career on track. Although nursing jobs in the Philippines right now is scarce and my immigrant visa is still in its slow processing; I made an option to enrich myself educationally. I enrolled last year at a Graduate School to finish a post-graduate diploma in management in preparation to my long-term goal of pursuing a dual course MBA-MAN in the US. This year, my dream is to finish the program and hopefully be able get a new job after leveling up my profession.

I’ve always dreamed of having a job overseas. Although my job here is very much fulfilling, but it just pay the bills and not enough to save some extras. I need to do this to support my family needs especially my youngest sister that will be a freshman this school year. I already started sending applications and hoping it would result to something good. ;-)

  38. Kittz 14 January 2011 at 7:20 pm #

I’ve always dreamed of contributing something for our country or the Filipinos in general. In supporting the passage of RH bill in congress by simply taking action like sharing information pertaining to the bill to our fellow Pinoys and asking them to sign the petition (Declaration of Support for the Immediate Passage of the Reproductive Health Bill into Law) thru the internet, I fervently hope that the bill will be passed into law & implemented this year. I’l truly feel proud & fulfilled to know that I’ve done my part in this.

  39. Kittz 14 January 2011 at 7:48 pm #

I’ve always dreamed of learning something new this year that could somehow take the boredom out of my present job at the same time add up to my skills & give my cv a boost of some sorts. And learning the Mandarin language seems like a good idea because aside from the above reasons, it would prove to be useful for me as well as fitting because my chinita features always confuses people and it gets embarassing most of the time. :) I’ve long been searching for a good language school or Chinese tutor. Hope this year I will finally know how to speak, read & write Mandarin.

I’ve always dreamed of winning a gadget for myself.
I am fond of joining online contests because it’s what I enjoy the most, it serves as my way to de stress and I find it very amusing to use my creative ideas from time to time. Eversince I started joining contests, I never won for myself any gadget. My usual prizes are gift certificates, collectible items, accessories, shoes, food items, beauty products, but I never experience winning a single gadget. This 2011, I dreamed and hope to win for a myself at least a single gadget. It could be a cellphone, an ipad, gaming console, whatever it is, my goal is to win at least one gadget as a prize this year. I will look for contests which does not require voting/liking for the entries, and I will make my strategize pretty well to come up with a winning entry to have a greater chance of winning.

My dream is for my husband to land a job overseas. Although his work here is okay and good, but preparing for our son’s future is our priority. Working overseas is such a sacrifice, but that sacrifice is sweet when all your dreams turn to reality. I do hope he will land a job abroad.

Last December 28, 2010, I made a pledge to be chocolate-free because it’s bad for me (I am allergic to cocoa and only cocoa in food). My dream is to continue that effort and to extend it as another pledge to be a healthier individual such as healthy food choices and exercise this 2011. Stepping away from my habits seems impossible at first. I am happy to announce that my simple decision to do it finally by announcing it in public was a success. I haven’t even craved for it ever since. I believe my commitment to a better me will be there to fuel my decision to continue even after this year. Our dream will remain a dream if we do not make that decision to fight for it. I am on my way to fulfilling that second dream at this moment.

  49. Melody Co 15 January 2011 at 2:42 pm #

I dream to be sexier by my standards this 2011. I want to accomplish changing the way I look now to the way I like it without changing my spending habits drastically. This dream would include skincare, haircare, wardrobe, makeup among many others. I figured that there is no point to doing things half-baked when it comes to myself. This includes talking to people who are my idols so to speak in these aspects. I should be sure that I know what I am doing and to stop being shy about asking for help. People would gladly help if they know they are adding value to other people’s lives.

i hope to spoil my little sister with tons of makeup this year. however, with the measley salary that an allied medical health practitioner gets, i can barely get my hands on a good lip and cheek stain myself and would have to settle for cheapos that thrive on flimsy packaging (and must spill on my kikay kit to stain everything!). im pushing my luck to sit for a U.S. licensure exam for Physical Therapy this May. I’m giving my best to make sure i pass this test, get my license and snag a better-paying PT job.

  56. Tiffany 16 January 2011 at 2:55 am #

I’ve always dreamed of pursuing my passion for illustration. I’m a college sophomore under a business course (the classic my-parents-wanted-it scenario) and I’ve been using it as an excuse to not practice, because I believe there is no point when I can’t make it my career anyway. But I’m tired of complaining. I have it all planned: This year, I’ll study by myself what arts students study and bring a notebook everywhere to practice all the time. When I get a lot better, I’ll put myself out there and (if I get lucky) I’ll have a small following who’ll inspire me more, and hopefully a side-career would pick up from that. I’m an extremely negative person and self-doubt has stopped me countless times before, but 2011 will be different – it’s my last shot at doing what I want.

  57. Kristine 16 January 2011 at 3:14 am #

For 2011, I dream of stepping up the corporate ladder and applying for higher posts in our company. I can do this by believing in myself first. Believing that I can do the job and I am confident that I can do it better than the others. Confidence is key. As they say, if you don’t believe in yourself, who would?

  58. Annika 16 January 2011 at 4:18 am #

I always dreamt of having special powers. Imagine all the things I would be able to do! I could prevent crime in a snap, super-freeze the time and rewind, protect the innocent and punish the accused instantly, magically create smart entrepreneurs out of the homeless people. I know that this dream would gradually come true thru God’s own little ways- except for the part where I get to be a superhero and wear undies over my tight pants with a cape! :) .

i dream of becoming top 4 in the last nursing licensure exam December 2010 and i’ll do it by believing in it because as the law of attraction is saying, “everything that you have and will have in your life is by the thought in which your are attracting to it” and why not! who knows that thought might be real. i believe that nothing is impossible because i believe…so for this year i’ll never stop believing in that dream, because i know in my heart that it will surely happen…^_^

This 2011 I want to step out of my comfort zone. Sometimes I have my self-imposed limitations and this is unhealthy! Why did we put them there in the first place?!

I will do the things that I have always wanted to do but kept putting them off. Like learning how to swim. Our country is an island, and a large part of the world is composed of water. So learning how to swim is definitely a good idea.

I will strive to look good always because who knows who we’ll bump into — whether on a public ride, in a mall, or from the supermarket!

I’ve always dreamed of travelling to different places. But given the limited resources of our family, travelling is really a luxury. I realize, however, that I can still travel even with a limited budget. In the early months of 2011, I’m starting to save up so I can fulfill that dream within this year.

I dream of being just me. I dream of pursuing my own life-long dreams. I dream of being happy for my own successes. So this 2011, I’m choosing to be independent. Inspired by Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat Pray Love, I will give time for myself and travel alone – something I haven’t done before. I will get out of my comfort zone, commute and enjoy the city. I will also go back to my first love – writing – and start working on my articles again. I will save more and spend less and do away with my credit cards so I can get a small but nice place for myself and my son. Lastly, I will stop being someone else for other people. I will learn to love myself even more.

My dream for 2011 is to get pregnant and have our first baby. I am married for 8 years and I had twice miscarriage.Having a baby is what I am longing for because having a baby is a very exciting part of everyone’s life. I really wanted to be a mom and feel the happiness of being a mother.

These are the things I need to do to get pregnant:
    1. visit an OB Gyne for check up and a blood test. I will do it on my next cycle.
    2. exercise at least thrice a week. I am now playing badminton 3x a week in the morning.
    3. eat nutritious food and drink lots of water. According to the book I have read “drinking clean water keeps you healthy while reducing the risk of miscarriage or birth defects.”
    4. avoid caffainne. So, instead of coffee I drink milk in the morning.
    5. take supplements for folic acid
    6. take vitamins and minerals.
    7. and above all keep on praying to our almighty God.

My dreams are not as complicated as any other dream. It is all about shared moments. I want to share ample and special time to my love ones specially my future wife.

We want to travel local destination together. Palawan is on to of our list. Only one local destination because we can’t afford to other places because of little budget.

We dream to fly a plane to get to our favorite destination. We never get any experience to travel by plane.

We don’t want to eat hefty and expensive food in Palawan. All we want to do is invest quality time with each other. But since it is a dream, to taste local delicacies will satisfy our hunger.

Time is as good as gold. Precious time investing with your special someone is PRICELESS DREAM.

For the “fabulous” part, I would try to learn how to apply correct make-up and buy beauty products that suit my hair and skin. For starters, I would wear lipstick, eyeshadow and blush-on even though I’m just going to the nearby supermarket or “talipapa.” LOL

Dreams are the most amazing things in life , we all love to dream and we all love to hope and to see ourselves getting better and better each day. This year 2011, I dream of finishing my study. Ever since I was a child I dreamed of becoming a successful nurse. Success to me is when I have a diploma, a career and a stable job as well. For me, I Look up to many things during my life such as achieving my goals and improving my self at this field of nursing during my life , I really can’t stop dreaming I think it is really great to dream and to live your life trying to reach your hopes.I want to give a better life to my mother and my father too. Because I know they will sacrifice their dreams for my dreams and I want to return the favor by taking good care of them. And for this, I’m determined to have it all. I’m certain nothing will defeat me, because I will not give up on my self, or my dream to success.

For the past 4 years, I’ve always dreamed of going back to the gym and have a sensible workout at least 3x a week, just what I did back then. However, I always find an excuse of not doing so because of too much work and other excuses that I can think of. So for 2011, I’m making sure that I won’t make any more excuses and get myself back to the gym and have some work-out. By February this year, I will be enrolling in a gym which is just a walking distance from my house. To make sure that I’ll push thru with accomplishing this dream, I’ll be having my nephew and my niece tag along so the three of us can spend some time together while staying healthy.

I’ve always dreamed of being a part of or starting my own events business. Despite graduating with a BS Computer Science degree as cum laude and with a departmental award from one of the best universities in the country, I have come to realize that my passion is really with interacting with people, planning activities, making to-do lists and schedules, and seeing people with smiles on their faces after an event. Despite this, I’ve always been to scared to leave my comfort zone as I already have a decent (yet sort of unhappy) job in a multinational company. This year, as I turn 20, I will start by taking more risks and reaching for my dreams to not just be an ordinary corporate sellout. I will enroll in an event management class, tag along event planners after work, and start my own small events group which could probably offer services to some friends for free to gain experience. This year will be about finally making things happen and stepping out of my very well-calculated life.

I want to be as normal as everybody else and that is my dream for this 2011. From the past years of my life I never had experience to be as an ordinary teenager mingling and enjoying my life. Instead there you could find me on the four corners of a white hospital room lying down and hoping all the ailments would go away. Every night its not a duty but a responsibility of me to go to the hospital 3X a week and have my hemodialysis session. I experience hardship, depression and most of all my body being in pain. I always see myself be with my age group enjoying the whole day but instead Im here together with the older patients going to have our blood clean.

Because of our Lord, he gave me a second chance, I undergone kidney transplantation. at exactly december 2010 its my first year of kidney transplantation. Today, 2011 I want to have a mark. A dream to start off my life. step by step, little by little. I want to correct all the wasted years of my life, grasp the opportunity to enrich all what is lost from me. From the will of God I know for sure he will always protect me on all the big step that I will go through

My dream is to have a rockin’ body this 2011. ;)

Success is not an accident, it begins with a well-conceived plan. By investing effort into a goal, I will be giving myself a launch pad for starting my new year and new life. So for this year, I will get into a habit of being fit [which, in turn, will take care of losing weight. :D ]

This always sounds easier than it really is. I am not going to tell you the number of times that I’ve started some exercise program and gradually cut back [with one excuse or another] until it became non-existent. The best exercise I’ve found is walking.

Walking is simple, natural, and doesn’t cost a cent. I haven’t been active for a while and I see it as a gentle low-impact exercise to place me into a higher level of fitness and health. For this coming year, I will strive to walk and walk as much as I could… and reap health benefits [no matter how little] in the process. :)

I have always wanted to be a great cook. At one point in time, my dreams went so far as challenging Mario Batali and Bobby Flay in Iron Chef: America. However, I have been putting off learning to cook for a long time. In fact, the only cooking tools I know how to use are the microwave and the oven toaster.
That is why this year I plan to give time to develop my culinary skills, with the help of the best cook I know — my mother.

My biggest dream this 2011 is to see my baby daughter walk. She’s 16 months already but she cannot crawl nor walk nor can she sit without support nor stand on her own. We had her checked right after her birthday and we found out that she has developmental delays. She’s been undergoing therapy and we are all hoping she’d walk before she turns 2.

Every waking moment, I utter a simple prayer to God that He let her walk… Simply because I would love to experience holding her hand while taking a leisurely stroll… I would love also to know what it’s like how to chase after her as she scoot off to wherever she like to go…

I have tirelessly accompanied her to her therapy sessions and did the exercises and massages at home… I just hope that those things when paired with prayer can help me fulfill my biggest dream… to see my baby walk.

My biggest dream is to be able to heal and finally be able to let go. It has been months since we’ve parted ways but I simply can’t move on. The hurt is rendering me hopeless for the future. The memories left lingering scars and wounds that doesn’t seem to wanna heal. Yes, I was left alone. But I know that the world goes with or without me in it. Day by day I find myself still breathing..still living. Perhaps it’s a message from the heavens that I still have yet a lot of unfulfilled missions. And that our heavenly Father has something better in store for me. So I’m praying earnestly that he lead me to the knowledge that to be loved, I must be lovable not miserable.

Everytime I try to do my make-up especially with eyeshadows, I feel like I’m doing it all wrong and I fear it’s because of my morena skin. I don’t know the perfect colors that suits me and even though I always do research on the net, I still can’t figure out what’s ok and what’s not. So this year, I want to attend some makeup courses and learn from the experts some tips and tricks on putting on makeup.

I’ve always dreamed of conquering my fear of heights. But honestly, I have never really tried facing this. This 2011, I vowed to myself that this is the year when I will try my very, very best to subdue my fear of heights. I’ll probably kick it off by attempting to look down from a window 10 floors and above (without shaking or scarpering away from the edge). After that, I might try wall climbing next, and if I’m succesffull, it’ll be the perfect time to try the famous zipline in Tagaytay. Wish me luck!! Oh, and if I do get to fully overcome my fear, maybe I’ll try one extreme sport, let’s say bungee jumping?! :)

I dream of getting a hair makeover. I’ve always had my hair rebonded to get super straight hair in the past. This year, I think I want to try having soft, sexy curls sporting a Victoria Secret model look. Before I go back to work this February, I wanna make sure to visit a good Korean salon (they are famous for perms I believe) and get myself a Digital perm so I could start my year at the corporate world with a Bang!!!

As eventful as 2010 has been, all good (and occasionally bad) things must come to an end. As a new year begins we prepare ourselves for the hopes, fears and dreams, and most likely the occasional surprise. Whatever the fates throw our way, until we actually experience it, all we’ll have is those hopes and dreams. While some dreams might be full of flight and fancy, others are more down to earth, although no less meaningful to the dreamer. Sometimes, though, either way, they do come true. And my dream for 2011 are prosperity and happiness to all mankind.

I am a big Formula One fanatic. I make it a point to watch all the races live on TV, even if it requires, because of time differences, waking up at 2:00 AM just to catch the race. Eversince the Singapore Singtel Grand Prix was included in the racing calendar in 2009, I’ve always dreamed of going to Singapore with my father to watch the race live. Unfortunately, because of work schedules, todate, it has remained a dream. So for 2011, I have already fixed my annual workplan, I made sure that I have no major activities on the dates of the Singapore Grand Prix race which is September 23-25, 2011. I’ve also started researching on things that will be essential for my travel to Singapore, like hotels, airline schedules, and for package tours, should there be any info available at this early part of the year, if it will be more convenient for me and my dad’s travel. I will definitely be in Singapore on those dates to watch and enjoy the race and all the activities lined up during race weekend.

I dream of having the skills in applying make-up. When I was in college, I am just a simple, soft-spoken girl who comes to school without any make-up at all. Now, it’s my first year at work and I felt the need to be more expressive, presentable and confident especially when I am dealing with professionals, clients and my superiors. It’s time for me to appreciate myself, and boost my self-esteem.

This year, I will start finding and investing on the cosmetic products that is suited for my skin type & complexion. I will also start learning how to apply make-up that shows my own personality and style. I will always believe in myself and find the look that is perfect for me.

For me, a dream is a journey. A lifelong journey to my bright future with my family, friends, love ones, and Almighty Being.

My journey for my bright future is not simple but with the help, grace, and mercy of God, He will surely provide.

My bright journey means my everything. I am the bread winner of our family and I must strive harder for us to survive. Job security and financial independence will set the borderline between my basic dream. I may not have the best job ever but I must think of my family first before my passion and career. A selfless dream but it drives my passion, interests, satisfaction, and my long-term investment to our bright future.

This year 2011, my goal is to make a difference in the lives of the young people through soul tending and mentoring. I’ve been going to Palawan to work with different communities (some are tribal communities up the mountains) even if i’m not from Palawan. I’d like to be a flexible woman who can excel academically yet can work among the grassroots, be elegant if the situation asks for it yet be carefree and streetsmart when in the community. A woman that can speak up when injustice is done yet can keep quiet when it’s time to submit to man’s authority. A woman who knows ethics when eating in a high class restaurant, yet be a woman who can eat anything when doing work in the mountains with no electricity and proper toilet. A woman who can be formal and a woman who can be fearless… i dream this year to mentor more young people before the enemy snatches them away and their lives get wasted. i cannot do this alone but i know someone up there will give the resources and partners to work in the community. :)

I am a registered nurse. Yes, this is a noble job. However, my ultimate dream is to work in a retail industry. It doesn’t matter what position I may be offered, as long as I’m in fashion paradise, there’s nothing more I could ask for for the rest of the year.

I have always been in love with fashion for as long as I can remember. Bit by bit I’m trying to turn this dream into reality. I would join bazaars and sell apparel and the like whenever I get the chance to. Believing this would be my stepping stone to my life long dream. I also choose my products meticulously. I didn’t want to sell just anything for the sake of selling. I made sure the products wouldn’t compromise my fashion sense. This was the very reason why most people buy from me, knowing that I personally chose each and everyone one of them.

Recently, a family member who works in the retail industry noticed my products. She realized that this was truly my passion and not something I would just shrug off eventually. Hence, she offered me contact details of people from the prestigious company she works in. Of course, I grabbed this opportunity immediately.

But..I’m still dreaming, and hoping to wake up into this as a reality soon. ?

I dream of channeling a healthy lifestyle today. Most people are now moving to the healthy side because they want to get wickedly thin, but that is not the case for me. I love my imperfect body; I am chubby-ish but I am not going on a strict diet just because I want to get thin. I just want to be healthy. So to achieve that, I will eat more veggies and less rice. I will also jog with my brother every now and then, and I shall invest on running shoes and sportswear for a start. A healthy body must have a healthy soul also so I will have my spiritual devotion every morning to nourish it. Now that’s healthy! :)

Not everyone is lucky enough to have one complete family, including me, I always dreamed of maybe one day my family will somehow be complete even on just one simple occasion. It affected so much in me that going to college is such a struggle but somehow made them look after me and maybe even my graduation. This year, I will do everything to make my family complete even if it is wishful thinking and against all odds so just to make the important moment of my graduation priceless and to be treasured.

I’ve always dreamed of THE best WEDDING for me and my boyfriend, it’s been 2 years since we started living together and taking care of our daughter, and every time i watch a wedding celebration ceremony and see those pre-nuptial and even their wedding pictures, I have a dream that one day i am the one saying “I DO” infront of the Altar and walk down the aisle. I believe, well 2011 is the best year for planning our wedding, and start a new life as husband and wife! =)

I’ve always dreamed to be a successful make up artist for super models in runway events. I guess I should start by flying out of the coop and work two jobs to study fashion and make up techniques in the nearest city I could find. I hope to be able to realize this exciting dream of mine this year but I think I can still wait for a couple of years since my profession isn’t leaning toward the art industry. Hope awaits me.

One of my dreams is to learn how to do make-up without overdoing it. I believe that simplicity is beauty and cosmetics are used just to enhance your beauty, not to overdo it resulting to an unrecognizable you. So this time, I choose cosmetics that I can wear everyday without really looking that I had make-up on. I even had a friend that believes in the same philosophy so I’m getting tips from her. A little goes a long, long way, isn’t it? :)

I dream of overcoming my habit of nail-biting this 2011. I’ve always had this mannerism since I was a child and I really want to get rid of it! I feels sad because I can’t even do nail arts or even paint my nails. So this year, I will kick that habit out of my system using an anti nail-bite solution. My friends gave me Cutex for this and I’m proud to say that I haven’t bitten my nails for more than a month now! I hope this will continue ’til the end of the year!

I dream of starring in a Broadway. It’s been a life long dream for me. Ever since I was a little girl, I would always play around the house dreaming that I was in the stage preforming in front a huge number of crowd. But I had responsibilities as the eldest child of the family. I have obligations to fulfill the dearest wish of my parents that is to finish my studies. But now that I’m one term away from graduating college, I would like to turn my dream in to a reality. In order for me to do so, I’ll start by taking auditions. True that I might face difficulties in the future but through great persistence, I know dreams like this can come true.

    Financial Stability for my parents…

My mom and dad have always been working hard all their lives. All the money they’ve earned always goes for me and by brother.

Now that I have a job, I want my parents to be financially stable. The best I can do for 2011 is continue paying for their SSS contributions. I’ve also set up a medical fund where I deposit around 3k monthly for them. This is to be used for medical purposes because they don’t have medical plans as of the moment.

However, the movie Pay It Forward inspired me, of how a small action can have continuing impacts. So this 2011, I plan to volunteer to our neighborhood’s weekly children’s church as a story teller. Retirement and me…

a lot of people say that saving for a rainy day does not depend on the salary that you get but on the amount that you actually get to save. True, but saving for retirement also requires investing not only on saving.

I dream of having 1m by the time I’m 30. How will I do this? Saving and investing. I’ve already set up an account with BDO just this January for their EIP. Its a type of mutual fund. I invest about 2k with them monthly and we’ll see how it goes from there. At least I’ve got my feet wet with investing

On my birthday last year, I fulfilled my long-time dream of sharing my blessings to the homeless. Instead of buying a gift for myself, I used my “celebration savings” to buy groceries- then toured around the streets of Manila (with my boyfriend and family) to extend some help to those who need them most. In a way, I gifted myself with a sense of fulfillment – finally, I’ve done what I’ve always thought of doing but just haven’t made time to do so.
This year, I’m dreaming of visiting a homeless shelter for children. I wish to bring them joy, even for just a day. My plan is to save enough so that aside from the usual food and games, I could also bring a mascot or clown to that special party. ?

    The green gal

When I was in highschool, we had this organization called the Earth Saver’s Club. Although I am long past that time, I believe I can do a lot of good since I am older. I am not much of a people person so encouraging people to convene is definitely not my forte.

For 2011, I dream of being able to help the community promote green living. How will I do this? I am an engineer by profession and it is through this that I can make an impact.

The US has this program called LEED certification. LEED stands for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” It means that if the structure (i.e. building) gets certified then it is more friendly to the environment. It has lower green gas emissions and can conserve energy and water. After I get my certification for this then I can bring this in structures that I design.

And finally…Has the Love Bug Struck again?

I dream of finding true love. I know, it might be something often seen in fairytales and Disney movies. It also seems like something a 14-year old or a teenager might say.

Love is not the be all and end all of everything and we can certainly survive without finding it but I believe that although that’s the case, life would certainly be dull without having someone by your side.

So, what can I do about it for 2011? Although going after someone can be done. I think the best route for me to take right now is prepare myself. Make sure that I am ready emotionally, intellectually, mentally and financially to handle a relationship that would lead to marriage.

I’ve often told my friends that sometimes what strains a relationship is the extra baggage that you carry. May it be insecurites, lost opportunities, helping relatives that have money problems and so many more things that simply boggles the mind. I believe that you have to be complete with just being “you” first before you can share a part of yourself. (Take that Jerry Mcguire!)

    That’s why I want…
Financial Stability for my parents- so that this will not be something that I will have to fight with my husband.

Finish my degree and take a few more masters degree or even a PhD-So that I can say to myself that I have accomplished everything that I want to do, career-wise

Have a retirement or nest egg to fall back on- so I will not be dependent on my husband if the relationship does not work out that way I want it to be.

Be well read and an accomplished musician- so that when I have kids I can teach them literature and music. (Modesty aside, I am quite competent at math as well so I don’t think I’ll have problems teaching my kids that. ^_^)

So in summation, 2011 is a year where I’ll be pushing forward with my life goals bit by bit.

Happy Year of the Rabbit, sis and thank you for this contest.

I always dream of having a fashion blog. I maintain a personal blog but it doesn’t in any way can be considered a fashion blog. However, most of the blogs I follow are fashion blogs. This year,my dream is to put up another blog which will tell about my other side – the one that is inclined with fashion. I would like to try endless possibilities to dressed up in my own personal and humble way, in accordance with my mood and as to how I feel. I know I will be far from pretty good, but I will try my best to work it out. I will read fashion blogs everyday, make them my inspiration as to how I will come up with my own personal and unique style. I will save money to buy thrift finds, cheap clothes, but with class, accessories, shoes and a lot more. I will build with confidence a new me, I will grab the chance to be different, because this year my goal is to dress up and show up the new “ME”.

In the near future, I dream of putting up my own foundation. Maybe it sounds far from reality, but I know nothing’s impossible with God and hard work! I am really inspired by my mom on how she channels her generosity to people in need through her little works such as treating street children near our house to some fastfood chain and giving their mothers even a small amount for their needs that day. So for a start of this “foundation dream”, I am mom’s assistant for her little charity work and I love it! I am even saving money so that I can give something to them too! Now I think that’s helpful, and responsible as well!

I have many dreams because it’s free to dream right?

First up, I dream of becoming a lawyer and a part time rockstar. It would be nice to have the best of both worlds in this because these professions sit in two opposite ends of the pole. Nevertheless, there have been those who have achieved this so I aspire for the same success as they have. I am working on the lawyer part since I’m already in my third year of law, but the rockstar part, meh, not so much. This is my goal for this 2011…to go back to my music roots. I would learn and relearn how to play the guitar even better, practice my vocal chords, and then try to get my former “band” together again.

Secondly, I dream of maintaining my personal/fashion/beauty/photography blog. Yes, that’s a lot of slashes but only because I aptly entitled my blog (which I currently just started) “Bits of this and that….” I have created about four blogs already so my dream and goal for this 2011 is to sustain my current blog (botat.tumblr.com) and try to make it reach blogger level number 2, at least. :)

Lastly, I dream of setting up a small cat adoption center for homeless cats. Call me crazy, and this cat adoption center could be my home, but I am a lover of cats and it pains me too see strays looking so weak and stumbling because of hunger. I currently have four cats at home and I’m considering adding more, once I get to convince my parents! :)

These may be just dreams but inch by inch I am moving forward to achieving them. It’s better to get our dreams moving rather than just leaving them in the thinking clouds above our heads, right?

  254. Tanya 23 January 2011 at 10:44 am #

DREAMS for the people I love…

First, I dream of paying back my parents, in kind of course, and in money too in the future (when I finally have a full-time job). It must be every child’s dream to pay back their parents for their kindness and hardship. If not, then it must be because for one you won’t be in this world if not for them. I am very thankful of my parents so I dream of paying them back, even in little ways, like treating them out to fancy dinners, saying I love you to them more often, hugging them more, and others.

Second, I dream of bringing back my romantic side for my boyfriend. During the first years of our relationship, and in every relationship I bet, that’s the time when sparks still fly and the maudlin mush of the relationship is at its highest. I wish to bring it back. I dream of becoming sweeter to him again and to surprise him with love notes once again, just to rekindle the old flame we had before. We’ve been together for six years and I think the length of time shouldn’t hamper our sweetness for each other.

Lastly, I dream of rekindling old friendships. I love all of my friends but these days I find it hard to get in touch with them. My goal and dream (which I will definitely fulfill) is to call up my friends and set up dates. This is the only way to get in touch with them again, not in facebook, not in twitter, but in reality.

Again, these dreams won’t remain to be just thoughts in thinking clouds hovering above my head. I assure it…this 2011.

My dream is to be able to focus on and have time for myself. All my life I’ve rendered love and care, wipe tears, ease pain and gave hope. Then I realized when it was me who was breaking, I didn’t know how to ask for help. Thus i should learn that like everybody else who makes mistakes, I should be able to forgive myself. That the world will continue with or without me in it. For all the times I put on a tough face, I can let down my guard and tell myself it’s ok to cry and be vulnerable. That no matter how much people expect from me, I am but human who has limitations. At the end of the day,the realization that for me to be able to continue caring for my loved ones, I should take care of myself. Now is the best time to stop and smell the flowers.

  260. radjh26 23 January 2011 at 1:54 pm #

I may say I’m ok with it but for as long as I can remember, I have this dream of being “physically normal”. You see, I am a polio victim who grew up in a family who had enough to get by through the day, but not enough to finance a hip operation. Growing up and living nearby a squatter’s area only subjected me to further teasing and pitying looks from kids to their parents. Needless to say, I pretty much sat out all PE activities from elementary to tertiary. But I did not let that hinder me to prove myself. What I lack for physical capabilities, I made up intellectually. Not to sound hypocritical, I admit that even to this day and age, I still get affected when I come across a child who would tease me for the funny way I walk. And maybe that’s what is fueling my desire to succeed. For I dream that one day, when I have worked hard and saved enough, I can undergo a hip operation and be seen for more than my disability.

  261. janice 23 January 2011 at 2:22 pm #

I don’t have much to ask nor do I dream big. For with all the mistakes I made and the opportunities I let pass by, I deserve where I am right now. I am a single mom with a widowed mother. My mistake had led me to numerous hardships in life including the passing of my dad (a nagging feeling that I have greatly contributed to his demise). Hadn’t it been for my best friend’s constant constructive nagging/relentless support and my baby boy, I would’ve given up. And so this dream is not necessarily one for myself but for the very people I hold so dear to my heart. I dream of a life where my mom would no longer worry about my future nor cry due to my rebellious attitude. A life where she can enjoy the company of my son and not be burdened. A life where my son, gets to enjoy the privileges I let pass by. A life wherein we get to make ends meet and not worry about where to get our next meal. A dream that I know, they will get because I’m working my butt off to ensure they get a life they deserve.

Last year, I resigned from my full-time job for two reasons, 1) I got pregnant with my 3rd child and I was scared all the work stress will result to a miscarriage and 2) I really wanted to transition from full-time working mom to a work-at-home mom (WAHM).

After I resigned, I became a WAHM for a while, doing an online project that lasted for only two months. I really don’t want to go back to the rat race anymore and would like to continue working from home. So, for the year 2011, I dream of being a professional blogger. I currently maintain a personal blog and would like to start earning from it. Hopefully, soon!

Lastly, I would like to have an online store selling products for moms and kids. I plan on starting one via Multiply but currently don’t have available funds to cover start-up expenses. So, I’m hoping that more blessings find their way to me so that all my 2011 dreams will come true. :)

I dream of having my own blog, so this year I’m gonna start one, and I’ll begin by thinking of what I really want to write about, and brainstorming for the perfect blog name.

I dream of renovating my room. It’s all nice and organized but it’s been the same for years and I’m game for some change. So this year, I plan to sketch my own design, put up some money and learn how to paint and do some carpentry so I could renovate my room by myself.

I know some will hate me for saying this, but ever since I was a kid, I’m skinny as a stick, and I want to gain some weight and you know, put some meat on these sticky bones of mine. I think a little more body would look good on me, and I plan to achieve this by researching the perfect balanced diet for me and sticking to it.

Ever since last year, I’ve been dreaming of a wardrobe change, so this year, I’ll sell my old clothes and buy new ones!!! Shopping!

A few years ago, I started studying French. For some reason that I can no longer remember, I stopped, and although I could read and understand a little French, I can’t speak it fluently yet. And it’s always been a dream of mine to be able to do so. So cette année, I’m hoping to go back to the language school so I could finish the course. :)

I dream of Batanes! Of going there and exploring the beauty of Batanes. This year, I’m gonna do some sideline work so I could save up for a Batanes trip.

I dream of starting a very nice scrapbook colelction for my nephews and nieces. Something they could look at when they’re older. This year, I’ll start collecting their pictures and other stuff I could put into their scrapbooks. It will be my art project for the year.

When I got a job, I had less time for my favorite pastimes, reading. After I quit my job, I went back to school, and I did more reading but not the leisure type of reading. So this year, while I’m still thinking of what to do next with my life, since I have no work or school to preoccupy myself with, I dream of finishing a 100 book reading list! I plan to do this by starting off with some classics.

I dream of being more adventurous this year, so to start of the year, I’m planning on going on some city tours with my friends, and then on to some out-of-town escapades!

I dream of having my own car. It is more expensive than commuting, but when I get so tired from public commute, or from lugging around my stuff everywhere I go, I always wish that I had a car of my own. One I could use anytime I want, and I don’t have to ask my parents for permission. So this year, I plan to start looking for a high-paying job so I could start to save up for my dream car. I probably won’t be able to buy it this year but I hope to be able to put up at least a third of the amount I need.

I’ve always wanted to travel abroad. However, time and finances haven’t permitted me to do so in the past years. So this year, I plan to look for not only a high-paying job, but a job that would enable me to travel abroad! Talk about hitting 2 birds with 1 stone. :)

I’m a single gal who belongs to the NBSB club (ok, no boyfriend since birth, waaahhh!). I’m not gorgeous but I wouldn’t exactly call myself plain looking either. I like to think I’m smart, AND funny but for some reason I have yet to find a boyfriend and whoever dreams of being single their whole life? Ok, maybe some do, but not me.

I’m pretty much happy now, I think on other levels I’m quite blessed, but I dream of at least experiencing having that special someone. Hoping once I find him, I’d be twice lucky if he’s THE ONE, since I’m not growing any younger.

This year, I plan to accomplish that by starting a manhunt… NAH! just kidding. I think most people see me as “mataray” and I guess that’s one of the reasons guys are scared of me. So let me rephrase that: This year, I hope to be more appealing to the opposite sex by trying to be more friendly and less mataray. And maybe a makeover would also help so I could look pretty, fabulous and glamorous (*wink)
    :)

This 2011, I dream to be a better me. Wiser, stronger and prettier.:-) I’ve also want to be a better HIV/AIDS advocate by being more empowered with information and empowering more young people.

I always dream to study to be a professional make-up artist. I always like to see my works wherein the crowds would praise for extreme fascination. I always like to be that person who is busy making people feel beautiful about themselves.

I also dream to travel around the world – alone. To see people and places in my own perspective.
