The Sex and Sensibilities Editorial Board
Ana Santos, Founder & Editorial Director
Ana links being a sexual health advocate to her stint as a dating & relationship columnist for a men’s magazine for four years. During this time, she realized that there was a need for intelligent, culturally sensitive information about sexual and reproductive health. Her full-length features on HIV/AIDS awareness, safer sex, reproductive health and other women’s issues have been published in Marie Claire, Women’s Health Philippines, Playboy, Metro, among others. She also maintains a weekly column in The Manila Times called “The Single Files”.
As a correspondent for international media agencies, Ana also writes about armed conflict and internal violence in Mindanao.
Ana graduated with degree in Journalism from the University of the Philippines.
Isabel Santillan, Communications Director
Belay is General Manager of BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines, one of the country’s leading advertising agencies, a member of the Women’s Media Circle, and a mother of 4. An advocate of intelligent sexual health, Belay recognizes that the world is changing fast and that there is a need to reevaluate our perspective on things, sexual health included without sacrificing our values.
Proud to be a product of the public school system, having studied at the Philippine Science High School and the University of the Philippines, Ces has been working as a Public Health Consultant for more than 10 years, focusing on HIV/AIDS, Sexual and Reproductive Health programs in Asia and the Pacific. For Ces, sex is, and should be, a celebration of the senses. “Sex and sensibilities is all about freeing our sense-ability, allowing us to experience the pleasures and profundity of our sexuality, without prejudice to ourselves and to others. Sexual health is about placing all this in the context of responsibility and rights to our bodies and our well-being.”
Ernica de Guzman, Youth Features Correspondent
Nicai is a senior at the College of Mass Communication, University of the Philippines, Diliman. A seasoned multi-tasker, Nicai is currently a reporter, producer and bureau manager of Kabataan News Network Manila, a writer for their college paper (Tinig ng Plaridel), and Vice-President for External Affairs of the UP Journalism Club. She has written and produced stories about teen sexuality, relationships and reproductive health for Kabataan News Network. Nicai believes that an informed youth will make more sensible decisions regarding sex.
Emm Roxas, Design Consultant
After graduating with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines, Emm had many years of freelance design experience before finally going into advertising. She currently works in one of the world’s largest advertising networks, helping create many of the campaigns regularly seen on TV and in newspapers. For Emm, the whole idea of the sex and sensibilities site was for women to be smart about their bodies, their relationships, the way they treated themselves—ideas she expressed in the SAS logo. She also designed a color scheme and avatar with a look that was urban chic with a hint of sensuality, a reflection of the modern Pinay.

hi
I’ve read an article at cosmopolitan about sexandsensibilities and so I’ve decided to check out the website as well, I find it really cool that we have this website or organization for women to be more aware with sex and disease that you can get from unprotective sex, to tell you honestly i do have a friend who’s HIV positive and she died a year ago, now i want to really help out women too to protect themselves and be educated more about sex. is there anyway that I can be a part of SAS?
love,
leuka
