“Happy Even After” solo parent dialogue-workshop at Mom Expo 2011

What better way to celebrate the month of Moms, than with Expo Mom, the premier lifestyle event for young urban moms and moms to be? The mommy-equivalent of a candy store for kids, Expo Mom will transform the whole Rockwell Tent into one huge trade expo jam packed with infotainment workshops (talks that are both informative and entertaining), shops with the coolest mom stuff, mompreneur labs, all rolled into one.

“This is not your regular bazaar,” promises Janice Crisostomo-Villanueva, organizer of Expo Mom and founder of Mommy Mundo, the Philippines’ go-to portal of moms. “Expo Mom showcases the latest in mom & baby products and services, from new brands that have just been launched or have just come in from abroad, to latest mompreneur inventions.”

At this whole-day event on May 7, moms can shop for top mom andbaby brands interact with mompreneurs and check out their most dynamic, creative momprenuer business ideas and perhaps evendiscover your own.
.
A pioneer mompreneur herself, Crisostomo-Villanueva started ExpoMom four years ago, envisioning it to be a one-stop shop for busy moms to get all the information and services they need to become the best moms they can be.

In the last four years since this started, other new additions have been added to cater to the ever-evolving needs of moms and their families. This year’s Expo Mom will have:

Mommy Resource Corner – Support counselors andexperts will be on hand to give advice on prenatal education, breastfeeding, solo parenting, homeschooling* and adoptive parenting* (*tentative).

In this year’s Expo Mom, there will be a talk about solo parenting entitled “Happy Even After” to be given by Ana Santos, Founder of Sex and Sensibilities.com. Santos, who has been a solo mom for 9 years, says, “There are many variations of solo parenthood: never married, once married, widow, even Tita Mommys who are raising other people’s children as their own. I’m very happy to be given the opportunity to share my own experiences with other solo parents who want to make their own ‘happy even after’ ending.”

Mommy Activities: Expo Mom will highlight all the latest trends in health and fitness for moms like Laughter Yoga, Modern Mom Fitness and Prenatal Stimulation for baby.

Infotainment Talks: There will also be talks and learning activities on solo parenthood, creative and healthy meals and time management for busy moms.

The combination of shops, vendors, talks and booths will keep the mommys busy, but Expo Mom promises to be something for everyone in the family.

“We know that weekends are precious time with the family so we made sure that the Expo Mom has something for kids, too. While the moms are busy checking out the new and exciting momproducts, they can have their kids play and hang out in the inflatable slides provided by Fun Ranch or get some snacks at the healthy snacks corner.,” says Crisostomo-Villanueva.

Expo Mom will also mark the formal launch of the Mommy Mundo Privilege Passport privilege card, the first card to offer not only discounts in mom and baby/kid retail shops, but also in online mompreneur stores like Tiny Tots and Mommy Matters.

“Last April at the Expo Kid event, we pre-launched the Mommy Mundo Privilege Passport through pre-registration. More than 100 moms signed up and we’re excited to present their card to them so they can start using it and extend the Expo Mom experience all year round,” ends Crisostomo-Villanueva.

Mommy Mundo Privilege Passport holders will also enjoy special discounts on their purchases.

Expo Mom entrance fee is only P25, 100% of which goes to MomShare outreach. Expo Mom discourages the use of plastic so attendees are asked to kindly bring their own reusable shopping bag.
