I support the RH Bill because…
Instead of the priests and politicians talking about why we should or shouldn’t support the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill, let’s hear real women like you and me speak out and tell us what they think.
“I support the RH Bill. All women have a right to safe sex, safe pregnancies and safe motherhood.”
- Regina Layug-Rosero, writer
“Some use the morality card when talking about the RH bill. What is more immoral to me is keeping people ignorant about their options, and then allowing babies to be born to families that cannot feed, shelter, clothe, and educate them, then later on force them to live without human dignity–simply because they didn’t know any better.”
- Nina Terol-Zialcita
“I think we should ‘go forth and multiply’; but only after taking the RH Bill Class 101 and understanding the implications of that.”
- Beej, 37, Banker/Scrapbooker
I believe in uplifting the quality of life by regulating the influx of human population, by emancipating women and men through gaining a deeper understanding of their bodies. Face it, having religion as the centerpiece of this society has inhibited us from doing so. Supporting the RH Bill does not mean one is not pro-life. Us who support the Bill are just as pro-life as the critics and the so-called “pro-life” anti-RH Bill are. We just value life in a different way – by uplifting its quality through information and education, not by stirring up one’s conscience as if we were being emotionally blackmailed

It will help curb the overpopulation problem and make more people aware of reproductive health.

“To control population.”
Ched, 29

“The RH bill is a demonstration of social justice. It can be proof that women and men are equal — because women will finally be able to decide for themselves what it is they want to do with their bodies, their lives, their opportunities. If the government, any form of religion, or society as a whole wishes to REALLY empower women, they should pass the bill. It’s no longer an issue of morality or propriety. It’s an issue of granting a human’s basic right.”
